Alliance Taskforce participated in Human Rights Summer Academy

The Alliance Taskforce participated in the Human Rights Summer Academy of the European Training Center in Graz on Thursday 25 September 2014. The basic topic of this Summer Academy was “How to manage Human Rights and the City?”. Input was given by experts from the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union, who firstly introduced their toolkit for public officials on how to design Human Rights Projects and secondly presented the results from their Europe-wide Roma survey, which impressively proved just how socially disadvantaged Roma are. Lastly Wolfgang Benedek, professor on Human Rights at the University of Graz, held a talk about the City of Graz’ efforts on implementing higher standards of Human Rights across a variety of fields. This Summer Academy provided the Alliance Taskforce with valuable expertise and input on how to design future initiatives and activities.
