Alliance Taskforce participated in EGAM conference in Prague, 12-15 June 2014
The Alliance Taskforce participated at an international conference of the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM) in Prague, 12-15 June 2014, that addressed the rise in racist violence and hate speech against Roma communities across Europe. The participants also exchanged views on the success and lessons learned of the Roma Pride events organized since 2010 in several European countries. Alliance activities and its support provided to local and regional authorities in promoting successful and sustainable Roma inclusion at local and regional level was also on the agenda.
Founded in 2010 in Paris, the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM) gathers antiracist civil society organisations from over 30 European countries in order to fight racism, anti-Semitism, racial discrimination and genocide denial in Europe. Its work focuses on three main types of activities: European-wide grassroots actions, lobbying activities targeting the European institutions and providing support to the leaders of the antiracist civil society.
