The Alliance participated in the 7th CAHROM meeting, 14-16 May
The Alliance Taskforce has participated in the 7th meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee of Experts on Roma Issues (CAHROM) that took place on 14-16 May 2014 in Strasbourg. On 14th May Denis Huber, Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Regions and Head of the Department for Cooperation, Administration and External Relations of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, presented the recent developments of the Alliance and its future plans under discussion. His statement was followed by a fruitful debate with questions from participants.
CAHROM was set up by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe as a new Committee of Experts answerable directly to the Committee of Ministers in 2011. The terms of reference place emphasis on the analysis and evaluation of the implementation of national policies and thematic exchanges of experience and good practices. CAHROM comprises one expert of each of the 47 Council of Europe member states. Other Council of Europe sectors, international organisations, the European Roma and Travellers Forum and other relevant (Roma) organisations are associated as observers to the CAHROM.
