The Alliance operates under the auspices of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

The term “Roma and Travellers” is used at the Council of Europe to encompass the wide diversity of the groups covered by the work of the Council of Europe in this field including Roma, Sinti/Manush, Calé, Kaale, Romanichals, Boyash/Rudari, Balkan Egyptians (Egyptians and Ashkali), Eastern groups (Dom, Lom and Abdal), groups such as Travellers, Yenish, and the populations designated under the administrative term “Gens du voyage”, as well as persons who identify themselves as Gypsies.

Alliance 3rd national workshop in Spain about access to European Structural Funds, Malaga, 17 February 2015

On 17th February 2015, the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for Roma Inclusion organizes for the third time a national seminar in Spain on access of local and regional authorities to European investment and structural funds. Manuel LEZERTUA, Director of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will participate in the event, which is organised in co-operation with the city of Málaga. The event plans to gather representatives from all Spanish regions, in addition to the participating cities and municipalities of the Alliance.
